Hi, I’m Carmen Leonard, and I’m the proud founder of Ohana Hygiene Project NH. I have four children, three of whom I am homeschooling, and one of the most important lessons I want to teach them is the power of service, compassion, and community.

I was inspired by another family who was creating hygiene bags for children in need, and their example encouraged me to start this project in our own community. Many children quietly go without basic hygiene essentials — things like soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, and feminine hygiene products. These small items make a big difference in a child’s confidence, dignity, and ability to focus at school.

I knew I had to take action and show my children that helping others isn’t just an idea — it’s something we live out. And so, Ohana Hygiene Project NH was born. “Ohana” means family, and our tagline, Because Every Child Is Family, reflects our belief that every child deserves to feel seen, cared for, and supported — just like family.

Through Ohana Hygiene Project, we provide clean hygiene bags to students in need, bringing not only essentials but also a message of love, belonging, and hope. Our mission is simple: to unite our community in compassion and purpose, teaching children and adults alike that when we care for one another, everyone thrives.
